Wise words from a published author, “Line editors ain’t cheap.”

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking since a friend posted on my FaceBook page that I should start a GoFundMe account to raise money to help get my stories published. It just didn’t feel right.

But then several other people asked why not? They would like to support me and they want to read the things I’m working on as I’m going through the process.

They also pointed out that street musicians have tip jars and reminded me that I always put in a few bucks to support them-so what’s the difference?

What is the difference?

If I start a Patreon account where you could set up a monthly donation of $3, $5 or $10 (think of it as springing for a cup of coffee, or buying me lunch once a month, but it would go into my writing fund) would you be interested?

I’d give patrons the inside scoop. Let you read my stories before they’re in the final stage – get your feedback on new endings vs. the originals.

Tell you what music inspired certain characters. Show you different art projects I’m working on when I’m not writing-have drawings and giveaways of those every couple of months.

Take you on video trips to look for shark teeth and alligators.

If you by me lunch, I’ll give a character your name… fun stuff like that.

Oh, and once your donation hit thirty bucks you’d get a signed copy of the book when it’s published.

Would you be interested? Any and all feedback appreciated.

    1. Well, I’ve decided against it, but thank you. I just can’t follow through on asking for help without feeling bad. And no bad feelings are allowed! 😀 and I love you too!

    2. I’ve changed my mind about asking for money to help with this… I just can’t without feeling guilty and no negative feelings allowed! But thank you! Love you lady!

    1. Every bit helps! And will be greatly appreciated. I should start my new job in a couple of weeks, but hopefully can keep it part time and the writing can stay a full time job. 🤞 It’s time to get these stories out there!

  2. OK…yes I would love to sponsor you…..but I don’t do money online. So I would do a snail mail gift. Just need the address of the shipwreck.

    1. You are awesome! I’ll PM you. Thank you! When I get everything set up, I can send you the patron rewards through email.
